ANALOG CLOCK PROJECT
PROJECT OVERViEW
Design a 12-inch circular analog clock that displays real time. The clock face should visually interpret an element of your social issue topic (Veteran Suicide) and, ideally, connect to the idea of time both conceptually and literally. The clock face must include ONE word related to your content, manipulated from an existing typeface and integrated into the visual language of the design.
FiRST: A STUDY OF TiME
Exploring the concept of time through my work as a designer and scrapbook artist has been a profoundly enlightening journey. By expressing time in diverse graphical forms, I’ve learned to transform something as abstract and intangible as time into meaningful, tangible visual experiences. This process has deepened my understanding of how design can shape perception, preserve memory, and bring structure and beauty to both personal and shared moments.
iNFOGRAPHiC
I wanted to move beyond simply describing my workload and instead represent it through data visualization – using charts, breakdowns, and weekly distributions to show how my hours are actually spent across different types of creative work.
By combining analytical elements like percentages and totals with playful design choices, I was able to turn routine tasks into a visual story.
The process also became a way for me to reflect on my own workflow, revealing patterns in my creative habits while reinforcing how design can transform everyday information into something both meaningful and visually expressive.

TiME REiMAGiNED
Exploring time not as a fixed, linear experience, but as something fluid, expressive, and open to interpretation through design. This was an exercise in breaking away from traditional representations of time and instead rethinking it as a visual language – one that can shift through rhythm, repetition, contrast, and abstraction. By using symbolic forms and layered composition, I aimed to capture how moments can feel different depending on context, emotion, and perspective. This exercise taught me that time becomes not just something we measure, but something we experience, reinterpret, and visually reconstruct.
The top clock shows the time at 830am. The bottom clock shows the time at 6:15pm.
